SIA “Red Cab”, registration number 40203139758 (hereinafter – “Red Cab”, “we” or “our”), cares about the protection of its customers' personal data.
This Privacy Policy applies to the mobile application “RedCab Taxi” (hereinafter – the “App”) and describes how we collect, use, store and protect the personal data of the App's users.
Personal data is processed in accordance with the applicable legislation of the Republic of Latvia and the European Union, including Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR).

2. What personal data we process
Depending on how the App is used, we may process the following categories of personal data.
Account and contact information
- phone number;
- e-mail address;
- user name, if the user has provided one.
The phone number is used for user registration and authentication. During registration or authentication, a one-time verification code is sent by SMS to the phone number provided by the user.
Location data
The App may use the device's location data in order to enable taxi ordering, determine the pick-up location and provide ride-related services.
Order and ride data
We may process information related to the taxi order and the ride, including:
- the pick-up location;
- the destination;
- the time of the order;
- ride information;
- information necessary for processing the order and providing the service.
Technical information
In order to ensure the operation, security and performance of the App and to resolve technical issues, technical information about the operation of the App and the device may be processed.
The App uses Google Firebase services, including Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Cloud Messaging.
These services may process technical and diagnostic information necessary for the operation of the relevant service, such as information about the App's operation, errors and technical events, as well as information necessary for sending notifications.
Payment information
The App provides, or may provide, the option to make cashless payments for services.
Specialised payment service providers may be used for payment processing. Payment data is processed to the extent necessary to make the payment and to provide the service.
3. Purposes of using personal data
We use personal data in order to:
- register and authenticate the App's user;
- send the SMS verification code;
- process taxi orders;
- determine the taxi pick-up location;
- organise and carry out the ride;
- communicate with the user in relation to the order or the ride;
- send service-related notifications;
- process payments;
- ensure the technical operation of the App;
- analyse and improve the App's performance;
- identify and fix technical errors;
- ensure information security;
- comply with obligations laid down in laws and regulations.
4. Firebase services
The RedCab Taxi App uses the following Google Firebase services:
- Firebase Analytics;
- Firebase Crashlytics;
- Firebase Cloud Messaging.
Firebase Analytics is used to obtain information about the use of the App and to improve its functionality.
Firebase Crashlytics is used to identify, analyse and fix technical failures and crashes of the App.
Firebase Cloud Messaging is used to send service-related push notifications to the App's users.
The use of Firebase services may involve the processing of technical data and information about the App's operation in accordance with Google's applicable terms and privacy policy.
5. Transfer of personal data to third parties
We do not sell users' personal data.
Personal data may be transferred to third parties or service providers only to the extent necessary for:
- providing the taxi service;
- ensuring the technical operation of the App;
- using Firebase services;
- processing payments;
- ensuring information security;
- complying with obligations laid down in laws and regulations.
If the User uses the cashless payment option, the data necessary for processing the payment may be transferred to the relevant payment service provider.
The User's phone number is not disclosed to the taxi driver.
6. Use of location data
The App uses location data in order to provide the taxi ordering functionality, including determining the user's pick-up location.
Access to location is used only to the extent necessary to provide the App's functionality.
7. Security of personal data
We implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, destruction, unauthorised use, alteration or disclosure.
User data is stored on dedicated server infrastructure physically located at a secured site within the territory of Latvia.
Access to the physical infrastructure is restricted and controlled by means of access authorisations.
Data transmission between the App and the servers is protected by appropriate technical security measures.
8. Storage of personal data
Personal data is stored only for as long as necessary for the specific processing purpose, for providing the service and for complying with obligations laid down in laws and regulations.
Once personal data is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymised, unless its further storage is required by laws and regulations.
9. Account deletion
The user is able to delete their RedCab Taxi account directly in the App.

After the account is deleted, the personal data associated with the user's account is deleted, except for data whose retention is required to comply with legal requirements or for other lawful reasons.
The user may also contact Red Cab by e-mail at redcab@redcab.lv with any questions about deleting the account or personal data.
10. User rights
In accordance with applicable laws and regulations, the user has the right to:
- request access to their personal data;
- request rectification of inaccurate personal data;
- request erasure of personal data;
- request restriction of the processing of personal data;
- object to certain processing of personal data;
- receive their personal data in a portable format, where provided for by applicable laws and regulations;
- withdraw consent in cases where the processing of personal data is based on consent.

11. Changes to the Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when the App's functionality, the service providers used or the applicable laws and regulations change.
